Made in Wales - Digital Engineering/Technology Award Winners, Simply Do Ideas

By Lydia Hutton on October 11th, 2018

For the team at Simply Do Ideas, this was one of the biggest achievements of our year! The prestigious Made In Wales award takes pride of place on the cabinet as you enter our offices, and we won’t be taking it down in a hurry.

The 2018 awards, held in Cardiff City hall, were a real celebration of Welsh businesses, endorsed by the dramatic green and red furnishings, there was no mistaking we were there for the glory of the many great Welsh manufacturers!

The Insider Media, Made in Wales awards celebrates the best in Wales. We were up against five other companies who, just like us, had great stories to tell. Our group comprised Safety Media, health and safety software; Comgem, an innovative ecommerce platform; Silvergate Plastics, The Largest Producer of Bespoke Colour Masterbatch in the UK; Zipporah, Global Providers of Online Booking, Transaction and Turnkey Solutions; and Mode Configurator, a 3D product configurator tool allowing your customers to create their own perfect products.

As we enter our third year of trading, and roll out a number of updates (dubbed internally as Simply Do 2.0!) which transform our humble enterprise education software into the leading technology for innovation and collaboration, we found ourselves in a group with some really big hitters. It’s fair to say we were thrilled with a nomination!

So, what does it mean to have won the Made In Wales award? We had a brief catch up with CEO, Lee Sharma, to find out…

“It’s a big achievement for us to win. To get Simply Do Ideas to a position where we are recognised on a national scale is outstanding, particularly as this was such a strong category.

This is very much a team effort. Our staff work hard to make the product the best it can be and to win really shows that all the hard work is paying off. We also have the support from an amazing board and group of investors. Even our clients are championing us and recommending us to their colleagues and peers. So to win the award really gives back a little something to everyone involved.

We have some very exciting plans for the coming months and this reinforces the knowledge that we are heading in the right direction. We are committed to driving economic and social impact and will keep working hard to make sure our clients are at the forefront of innovation."
